Default Strange overheating reason/repair.

So from what Ive read i had the problem 75% of you had but slightly different... My car would get very hot driving in fourth gear at speeds around 50. Temp gauge was at 250 right before the red mark. I wasn't romping on the throttle or anything. I was also so warm in the cabin i was sweating wearing shorts with the windows down, rear window out and the heat completely off. In town putting from light to light it would cool a little. Today i was flushing the coolant, new t stat, water wetter, and all hoses. Trying to cure my issue. Well, Bubba used red water hoses. Long story short they had a 195 t stat in. I installed a 180. The big issue was that the hoses were routed wrong. water pump streight to heater core. heater core to expansion tank to intake. I only noticed because the hoses are different sizes for a reason! After looking on the forum Alan 71 had a post about hose routing. Now hoses are proper. Went for a ride no heat issues and running at about 180!! I don't believe what some people will do to these cars! Huge thanks to Alan.

I've only been a member a short time but Alan seems to be very knowledgeable and seems to have a pic for almost everything. Thanks Alan for using your time to help out others and yes everyone else too. Phil
