Default TCS or TSC? and emission stuff

Guys,
My 74 had only a very few emissions things on it from the factory, most were thingies on the manifold with vacuum lines plugged into them. I now have eliminated everything. Now the question, on my engine wiring harness there are plugs for the "TCS/TSC" (whatever the dumb thing is called) can I leave the plugs unhooked providing I tape them up? Also the sending unit that is located on the passenger side of the block is gonna go. Can I leave the threaded hole in the block empty?

I'm not sure about leaving the TCS connector hooked up. I don't remember the details, but I think it is necessary on manual trannys and not used on automatics.

But I wanted to let you know that I believe the sending unit is in a water jacket and if you remove it you will experience a radiator fluid waterfall.

If you want your block to continue to hold coolant you should leave it in place. :yesnod: :yesnod:

And if you are going to leave the sensor, might as well leave the wiring connected.

The TCS hasn't been hooked up on my '70 since I got her. The prior owner clipped the 2 wires where they come out of the harness at the firewall passenger side and (are supposed to) go to the TCS solenoid. The vac plug on the back of the carb I capped, and the vac advance I have from the front of the carb straight to the distributor. The TCS solenoid is just hanging on the studded intake manifold bolt. The rest of the 'stuff' on the transmission is still there & untouched. TH400 trans. ~Juliet

As Juliet said, you can by-pass the TCS(temperature controlled spark)just as she said. All it really did was NOT switch the vacuum "ON" for distributor timing until the water temp reached something like 92*. You can take out the sensor in passenger side head(you will lose water)and get a "correct" size replacement plug for it at Lowe's or HomeDepot.
