Silver, I got an old dodge 3/4 ton van '85 B250 series, the ac compressor shaft keeps rusting and leaking freon....
this is getting to be the 3rd compressor and 4th seal in 10 years now....
any solutions??? BTW, they keep breaking the flapper valves off also...
took it apart, and there they were, all shattered...again...
Yeah it is a real mess when a compressor bites the dust. I don't have ANY experience with Mopar stuff. I do know that A/C shops used to replace seals but had limited success. Now there are not many places that will even try. As with everthing nowadays it is a remove and replace with cheap junk world. Trying to find a true mechanic is a real challenge. I got my license for A/C on line.
Silver, Yeh, I know....all too well, just no more quality with anything anymore...all plastic lightweight cheap junk....
and it costs a fortune to buy, and keep repaired....and the parts available are just not as good as original, and even original aint' for a damn anymore...
all in the name of weight savings..fuel economy....
and here I"m talking a 4400 lbs VAN for christsakes, 10 mpg with a tailwind...
and still they can't use an A6 or something decent...
I bought a upper radiator hose from A/C delco distributor. It developed a big bubble in less than two years! Nowhere near the quality of the OEM parts. G/M Replacement parts are not the same as the original in terms of quality, and in some cases they even look different.
