Default Dyna Mag II Wheels

I have a chance to buy a set of Dyna Mag II Wheels for really cheap. Like, I can believe he is letting them go for that, cheap. They are 17 x 9.5. I know they will need spacers, but my question is will 9.5 fit the front? I have a 78 SA.

I cannot imagine how even with spacers they would fit the front. Did you find out what the backspacing is on these wheels?

They are 7" back spacing which means I would need a 1.5 in spacer correct? Regardless if they fit or not. I may buy them, blast them, powder coat them and resell them. They are a $2500-$3000 set of wheels.

I don't want to sound argumentative, but how is Mike80 able to have 9.5 fronts with a 2.5" spacer. There are several people using 9.5 inch front wheels with adapters. I guess that is the question. What body or frame mods will I have to do?

Here's the thing: you can buy brand new wheels that fit, and look pretty cool, for 600-800 bucks.

Maybe you should send him a PM. Also, I haven't read this whole thread, but it's the tire/wheel combo sticky, if you haven't read it yet, it may or may not contain some info that you can use. Bon appetit!

I don't think you realize. The Dymag wheels are worth $3k. I am able to purchase them for $500 dollars because they need blasting and repowder coated which I am able to do. Which is why I am pushing for them.

What do they look like? I can't find a pic of them on the internet. All I see is motorcycle wheels.

Scotty here is a link to another post. The avatar of the wheel and a few pics are on here. Look for a wheel shot of a red Vette.

They're pretty cool looking, but they're not that cool looking, why are they so expensive? Not making fun or anything, actually curious.

Scotty, they were offered by Callaway. Callaway had 3 generations of Dymags throughout the years and now are hard to find. They are magnesium and only weigh 20lbs for 17 x 9.5 rims. I figured I could buy them, restore them, use them, and then sell them if I get tired of them, or sell my car.

Oh, it's a rarity thing, I get it. Well, personally, (and I understand that different folks have different tastes) I think they are kinda plain-Jane looking. Buy 'em, spruce 'em up, and sell 'em, use the money to buy some cooler looking wheels. Check these out:

http://www.hotrodhanks.com/products/...D/354?show=ALL

Just look for the 17" x 8" with the -12mm offset, throw some 255/50/17 or 235/55/17 tires on 'em, and you'll be stylin', with enough left over to do something special for the old ball-and-chain. Win-win, baby!

I like the way you think, qwank! Hey, I live in central Massachusetts, we should meet at a car show or something over the summer and hoist a few cold ones together, and solve all the world's problems.

I'll be at the cars of summer in Worchester and also the summer nationals in CT on the 4th of July weekend, not sure if you go to either of those.

and I'm a fan of those rev wheels also.
