New guy, old corvette. Letīs improve it!
Well... actually I am not that new, i bought the Corvette in 2010 from a guy on this forum, while I was living in ATL! After few months the Vette was shipped to Italy (I am italian) and now she has a italian license plate. In few months she will have a German license plate (basically I take her wherever i move to
).Now... the Vette is currently in Italy in my mechanic garage. She needs some minor fixing (power steering leak, parking brake etc)..
Since she is there and i have to buy stuff from US i was thinking... Maybe itīs time to upgrade also something else!
STEP 1 (more steps will come here!)
Iīve been looking for an exhaust then, but I have a lot of confusion. I read a lot on forums (italians also), but the result is that I am still confused

This is the sound that I am looking for:
I was checking Summit Racing for the parts (Willcox does not have many exhaust).

CORVETTE SPECS:
1973, L82, automatic, a/c
Cammed 383 stroker, headers, 2.5 stainless duals with X pipe and vibrant silent resonators... Think it's a magnaflow system... Idles like that, quiets down smooth for driveability, and screams when floored! Can still have conversations and listen to music cruisin down the freeway, but has one hell of a sound through town and at streetlights...

I bought my vette the way it is, and after seeing what the PO paid for my exhaust system... I can't bring myself to change anything on it...

The Flowmaster 44 sounds good!!
In term of performance.... would I notice a good difference replacing the whole exhaust? I means from headers to mufflers.
I think I will choose the Flowmaster as a Mufflers. What about the rest of the exhaust? Suggestions?
Thanks
Also, if you havent heard "corsa exhaust"...i highly suggest you hear that on youtube...
flowmaster has a specific sound and i love it... so does corsa.. will try to find some videos to post..
In addition..if you like this..you can go to the C5 corvette section here and look under "parts for sale"...and sometimes the members sell them... you can use many parts off the C5 system for this... tips, mufflers and some of the mandrel bends..
if you opt for mufflers this high and close to the fiberglass... consider ceramic coating (jet hot type)..or wrapping them with header tape (heat wrap)...
we are doing this with corsa extreme mufflers and ceramic coating the entire exhaust... in the usa..it cost only about $15 per foot (usd $50 /meter) to coat the exhaust pipes inside and out...in addition.. approx $45 usd per muffler to ceramic coat..
so..in theory..you can coat the headers, all exhaust pipes, mufflers all the way to the tips... the tips he used are searched by "double wall angle cut exhaust tips" or "two wall angle cut exhaust tips"...and are very available.. a double tip (one side) runs approx. usd $80 (so $160 for the pair)
a picture from vince coming...looking for now

I went through 3 different muffler set ups before this and I am finally happy.
