I pulled the smog pump off of my engine and now I'm disconnecting the the "sniffer" tubes that go from the smog pump into the cast iron manifolds. I removed all but two of them. I've been using the coat hanger trick but these last two tubes are not budging. Any suggestions that might help to get these out would be great. For the record one of the them is the first one on the driver side under the alternator and the other is the exact opposite on the passenger side all the way in the back.
I was using that a lit bit last night but I'm afraid I'll break it off in the tube. I've heard that these tubes will fall apart when not connected to a smog pump, is that really the case? I'm trying to look at worse case scenario here if I can't get these last two out and just leave them in. How bad will it be?

I don't believe that the remaining tubes will fall apart. I would try some penetrating oil and see if you can tap the top of the tubes with a punch to break the "fit" and work in the oil.
