Default carb causing exhaust smoke?

I just took my car out for a ride.. right after I stepped on it I noticed white smoke behind me.. seems like when I let off the gas it happened,, I tried it like 4 or 5 times,,,i pulled over and reved the engine but exhaust was clean... its running a little rough but overall not horrible,,, carb issues or engine rebuild in my future?

Just in general, black smoke means too rich, blue smoke is oil, and white smoke means coolant.

What type of tranny? It could be tranny fluid.

What about the ambient temps your driving in? Could be water vapor if it's cooler where you are. You know, like in the winter when all the cars smoke white.

Otherwise I agree with scotty, it may be coolant, possibly head gasket.

I'm dealing with a slightly similar issue... But only at startup... And a completely fresh engine with roughly 3000-3500 miles on it by now .. Dunno if I'm still in the 'break in' stage .. Or if it's a quality of this engine... Or what... Plan to bring her to the local vette shop for a dyno tune sometime in the near future... Let em make sure all the valves are adjusted properly etc ... Don't wanna hurt anything if I can help it ... What could cause oil to get on the pistons when sitting? I'm assuming valve seals?

Sometimes white smoke could be blown head gasket. If it clears up possibly something else. If it happens on deceleration, very likely it's valve seals.

I think I found it... I had a valve cover breather plug on the opposite valve cover as my egr valve... I replaced it with a solid plug checking to see if it would help with vacuum issues... I put the breather plug back in and took it for a ride... no issues .. I have my fingers crossed..
