Default AC book for vet?

I am going to try to rebuild my AC system. Is there a book available that goes into trouble shooting the system, including the vacuum operated doors and controls? I have the assembly manual, but some text would be nice.

I am ordering a new compressor and hoses.

Since I've seen a few positive posts I will be converting to R134.

There's a book sold by most venders called 1963-1982 Corvette Air Conditioning. I have not used it, but heard it is pretty good.

Hope this helps.

I have that book and it's very good advice, getting ready to apply the information soon, maybe in time for winter. I also have another book, "How to Air Condition Your Car". More general as far as Vettes go, but good info since I'm going to update my system and not just rebuild what I have. Between the two books, I think I understand what needs to be done and how it all should work.
