Default Need guru who knows engine harness-'68

I'm usually on C1 forum, but my '62 had a '68 engine installed years ago. I pulled engine in January for detailing...found that the harness was in dire need of replacement. Whoever swapped the engine utilized the stock harness. Simple enough-I made one with the correct gauge/color wires that the factory schematic called out. Finishing hooking up the wires, but need reassurance that this is correct.

So, here's what I have...green wire (from + wire on coil/resistor) to the "R" on solenoid. Violet wire from ignition switch to "S" on solenoid. Black wire from ammeter gauge to ground. And, obviously, "+" from battery to the main lug on solenoid.

Is that the only wire I need going to the main lug on the starter? The car had also been changed over to a single wire alternator, which is connected to the hot side of the ammeter gauge.

I appreciate your guidance and assistance.

Mine has TI ignition and is a BB so the wiring is different. Here is the wiring diagram I have been using and there is a guy on C3 forum named papawana that can send you wiring diagrams also.

Thanks for the link. Just need to verify if my connections to the starter are correct.

Thanks!

Going by the 62 schematic you have it correct.

Thanks-that was a different schematic layout than the one in my AIM (which I don't have in front of me at the moment), but on my schematic I believe there was an additional wire to the solenoid.

Looks like I will be ok-thanks again!

The black on the ammeter does not go to ground, it connects to the battery positive on the solenoid.

On the same lug with the cable from the + Battery? (at least according to the 1962 schematic above!)
