Removed the steering column from 75 over winter to fix tach and freshen gauges. The plastic horn contact carrier under the spring fell out in pieces. I removed the tele hub and installed new horn contact carrier and re-installed steering column. Tach works and Horn works as it should but the right turn signal will not lock in place with the lever. I can hold it up and right turn signal flashes as it should but will not lock on as it should. Left turn signal works as designed. What did I do to cause the problem? How to troubleshoot? I am not too familiar with turn signal system and hate to by new canceling cam without knowing that is the problem.
Did you index the column correctly to the steering box when you put it back in? There is a mark on the end of the column visible when the horn button is out of the way, it should be at 12:00 o'clock when the wheels are straight ahead. You probably have an internal issue with the self cancelling mech but thought it worthwhile you check the above as it will cause issues with the indicators if not correct.

The wheel is indexed correctly. The line on the shaft is at 12:00 position. I wonder if the pieces of the horn contact carrier may have fallen into the column and stuck on the turn signal cancelling cam?
It sure sounds like something is in there... I'd pull it back down and see. If you have the tool for the spring it won't take you that long to get there.
