Gauge Upgrade
I decided to go with the Sport Comp style.

So I did a little measuring and found that the 2 1/16 Auto meter gauges are almost a perfect fit for the holes in the stock gauge console.
I took the console out and removed all the old gauges. I also wanted to keep the headlight and seat belt indicators intact so I needed to re-use the back panel that holds them in place.

I took my cut-off wheel and cut the back of the plate off and trimmed it up to fit over the new gauges.
Don’t worry, there is no need for sloppy, cut up, spliced in wiring. I just cut the connectors off and crimped some new connectors on so they can be unplugged easily if I need to remove the console. I did the same for the lights, cut the old bulb sockets off and added a connector.

Here is the completed install. I went with the vacuum gauge to take the place of the clock for two reasons, one, the Auto meter clock didnt come in 2 1/16" and two, I dont really need a clock. I can get a lot more useful info from a vacuum gauge than I can with a clock. Easy upgrade and in my opinion, a ton more nicer than the stock gauges.
And they do work great. Had the car out several times and couldnt be happier.
