Default Any proposals for improvement?

Hi,

Any proposals for improvement here?
L46, Engine not warm when picture taken.
MSD 8571, blue springs, black stopper ring @18

It would be nice to get a few extra mpg out of the car :- )

short answer, the knowledgable people on this forum cannot help you unless you give them alot more specific info.i.e.,how many miles per gallon are you getting now, what rear do you have, auto or standard, driving habits, last tune-up(complete tune-up) how many miles are on car, etc, etc. Then they will be able to help you.

Hi cardo0,

The car runs strong, regarding the mpg, then it will come when I mount my T5 WC 0.63 in 5th tranni (I hope :- )

Ok John, i thought u were showing off the results of all your rebuilding efforts. I guess u were serious about fuel mileage too.

Yes a T5 w/OD will help for freeway driving - expensive though unless u intend to drive it every day. Installing taller rear tires will help your OD and lower your rpms at freeway speeds also.
Well i recall u have installed EFI. U should be able to tune your fuel maps for lean at cruise. Thats something like 15:1 A/F or something like 1.03 lambda.

Congrats,

Hi cardo0,

No not yet, parts is bought, and on its way to me.
I've bought:
GM L46 cam
Hydr. lifter (std. GM)
Rocker arms (std. GM)
Push rods
Complete gasket set (Fel-Pro)
ARP bolt set.
Different kind a grease.
New spark plugs (NGK BP5S)
And a shifter to my T5 tranni :- )

I don't think I will assemble the engine before fall, parts will come by sea (4 weeks from now), and now it is time for driving :- ) The summer is short here in Denmark.

But I am thinking about taking my other new renovated 186 heads, and put in my car, just to see if there is any difference.

Regarding the price for a T5 tranni, I do drive my Corvette a lot, BUT also, gas prices here in Denmark, is more then double the price compared to USA.
1L of gas (99 EU octan = 93-94 US octan I think) is $2,5, that $9 for a gallon, so yes the transmission is expensive, but gas prices here are very high.

Here is my AF setting:
Idle AF: 13.4
Cruise AF: 15.2
WOT AF: 13.1

I can't (I think) make a setting in lambda. (EZ-EFI 1.0)

Have a great day in US :- )

Regards,
John
