Thanks to all for the friendly greetings ! I look forward to posting back and forth with fellow enthusiasts. I'll do my best to get at least one picture of our 72 on here, just as soon as possible. I tend to be a perfectionist sometimes, (which I know is going to drive me nuts with a 30 year old car  ) so I want to take some pics in good light, with a good setting for posterity. :yesnod:
Thanks again !
It's easy to check the numbers on your tranny.
Look on the driver's side edge of the aluminum housing, just above the pan.
The VIN # is stamped into each TH400. I just checked mine the other day.
Yup - they matched !! Damn - forgot to take a picture. :smash:
ps - be thankful that you live in a relatively rust-free zone.
Congrats, I did the same thing...sold my 82CE and bought a 71  ...and your right , owning a 30 year old car in any condition can be trying but in the end well worth it.
Best of luck with your new ride. :D

No regrets so far....I don't think I'll have any either. I've always wanted a chrome bumper car. Your 71 is a nice ride, no doubt.
