Intake/Exhaust Lash = 0.024"/0.028". Set "hot and running" per the 69 Chevy Chassis Service Manual.

That is what the service manual says.
You may have better luck, (and longer life for your feeler gauges) is you get it hot, shut it down and pull one cover and adjust the intake as the exhaust opens and the intake as the exhaust closes.
All I ever got doing it running was the ends chewed up on the feeler gauges. Didn't quite cut divots, but you could sure see where the end of the valve was.

Correction: Adjust intake valve when exhaust valve begins to open and adjust exhaust valve when the intake valve starts to close.

Once you know they're set properly, wait until the engine is cold (as in the next day or later) and measure them that way. Write it down and from then on you can use those specs to set them cold- much nicer.

That is EXACTLY why I have a sticker on the firewall to remind me. I've been adjusting valves like that since 1972---- and I STILL CAN'T REMEMBER..
Thanks for the correction!!
