Default New member here...

Hi, all. Well here is my history, have had 2 vettes in my life, a 75 ragtop and my current 81. A few weeks ago I woke up to find some punks had poured paint stripper all over our cars, my wifes new tracker, my truck and my vette (am putting a engine in my son's car so vette was in the driveway for a few weeks). After some fighting with the insurance company (they wanted to total her) they agreed to a new paint job all it will cost me is $50 ($6700). I am going back to factory original and they are replacing the weatherstripping as well(repaint door jams). I have spent the last 5 years doing all the mecanical work myself and average about 2800 miles a year on the car. This winter I am going to replace the seat foam and covers and the carpet as well and get the radio rebuild. I look foward to the help I am sure I am going to need and I hate interior work, I redid my 75 as well, it never goes in the same. Everyone have a nice evening.

Welcome to the forum. Take some before/after pics if you can. Find out who did the damage, cause I bet your insurance company will raise your premiums so eventually you will pay for the paint job. You need one of those security cameras, cause the punks are sure to drive by (or walk by) so they can see their handywork.

Welcome!! Sorry to hear about your paint job. Makes you wonder what people are thinking when they do stuff like that. Nothing obviously, but anyway, good to hear your getting it taken care of.
