Man, talk about a wide range of choices! I need a cover for primarily indoor use to protect against dust and occasional outdoor use, to protect against sun, dust and dirt.
I live in AZ so moisture is not an issue. The car is always garaged so this will be more of a dust cover than anything. I've looked in Ecklers, MA, Paragon, etc. and there is quite a selection. I'm not real hip on spending $200 if I don't need it. I also don't want to get a $49 one and not get the protection I need.
I went with the Evolution 4. I keep mine inside. Looked at the flannel lined ones (Dustop) but with a ragtop, flannel wouldn't be a good idea. And don't forget the 5% discount for Forum members through Zip. Here's a link for info on the fabrics that might help with your selection.
SRPGirl- when I was researching the different types of covers, I learned that flannel has a tendency to flock (or ball up) on ragtops. To avoid this possibility, and since I keep mine inside, I opted for the thickest cover not flannel lined, which I found to be the Evolution4. If I kept it outside, I would've gone with the Noah.
For ease, in the summer i have 3 old comforters i lay on top while in the garage. just to keep most of the dust off. i have a flannel i put over the top of these for long term storage in the garage. one of those hightech covers in on my 'need to get someday' list
I have a Performance Choice (Mid America's brand) that I bought about 4 years ago. Worked fine for the first year or so, but then some of the materials start deteriorating and it leaves a white hazy dusting on the car. Thus I have to wash the car every time I take the cover off. Methinks it's time to get a new cover :yesnod: :smash:
