Drive Shaft

How would one tell which end is which or does it even matter? Most people mark the position so they can go back the same way.

It will fit either way but the trans end yoke must be marked to put it in or take out as it is balanced.
if you have taken it out and put in new u joints it must be balanced with the yoke strapped on to the driveshaft.

It was balanced once but not with the yoke. They weren't set up for that. It was a driveline shop which really catered to large trucks.
