Does anyone know the inside measurement where the joint goes? I just changed mine and they are tight as hell and the ring will barely fit on one side. I have 2.5"

I think you might have to be more specific on what measurement you're looking for. Are you looking for the u joint yoke width or shaft length from u joint cup to cup?
I had the same problem installing my u-joints yesterday. I probably am not going to be much of a help, but I just pressed the joint with the clips using my harbor freight hydraulic press until they were reasonably secure.
I was looking for inside yoke, 2.5" from inside to inside is what I have but they are really tight and one side snap ring won't seat all the way in. In but not all the way
I'm assuming the yokes are bent. Prolly not by much. Any methods for getting them back where they need to be? The old ones came out pretty easy I'm a little surprised.

You would need a close fitting rod about 6" long to slide into the yoke holes--one side at a time....then place a square againit the driveshaft and butt it up to the rod to see if/which way the yoke "ear" is bent.....use a press or a maul to straighten the ear.....then use the same method on the other ear.....when the rod will slie thru both ears, the yoke bearing fits are fairly straight.
Yeah I was thinkin square or straightedge and a large bolt, nut with a sleeve of some sort to push from the inside. I was hoping for a measurement to work with. I had a high speed vibration to start with. Hey by the way I'll wave from the bridge in the morning when I pass
