When I upgraded my 468 I knew I wanted R-port heads and I wanted them to be aluminum. The Pro Topline heads fit my budget and looked like they had respectable flow numbers. I believe I paid $1500 for the heads complete and shipped to my door which at the time was considerably less than just about anything else out. I was/am very happy with the quality and performance of them.
I guess my question is, did I make a mistake getting the 320cc aluminum heads from a supplier that is now out of business? The company has long since been bought out and is now "Pro Comp" I believe. I also noticed they are like HALF the price of what I had paid like 8 years ago.
They have been on my 468 for about 8 years but probably only have a little over 200 miles on them. I moved away for a few years so my car has just been sitting in the garage. I have heard that there are machining differences between the Pro Topline and Pro Comp. I am saving up to build a mild 555 to drop in and was considering using these heads. I have been out of the "engine building world" for a few heads and am trying to get up to speed on things. Any information or comparisons between the two?
If I'm not mistaken...the Pro Topline were an entirely different animal than the Pro Comp stuff and the similar no names. The Pro Toplines were pretty darn nice..at least the ones I saw were. They flowed very well out of the box.
