Few comments that I think might help readers?

-I do not know of any "splined sleeves", the ball joints go into a "tapered" hole on the spindle assembly??

-might have the arms in the wrong locations?? post photo of the problem and somebody here will likely see the issue.

Hope this might help.

I wonder if auto spell is the culprit for splined sleeves should read spindle?

Take a mic and check ball joint shafts to see if they are the same diameter and length. Looks like you have the right parts but double check application.

Sorry it is the spindle I meant I'm pretty sure arms are installed properly will double check because sometimes after you walk away and come back things are much clearer Thanks Phil

Hate to ask but just in case...
The top arms are only slightly different and not obvious, any chance they ended up on the wrong sides?
Bottoms are easy to see, the mount for the sway bar is on the front.
If the tops are the wrong ones you won't be able to line the joints up on the top and bottom

This is an absolutely true statement. The top a-arms are specific for each side of the car. As I recall, with the mounting pivot rod parallel to the ground, if you were to put a straight edge across the end of the a-arm on the ball joint side it will point higher on the side that faces the back of the car.

I went back to my winter rebuild thread and that appeared to be the case. I thought I had written about this in my thread, but I could not find it specifically.

Thanks very much guys you were right as usual, they were on wrong side. I tried just doing one side at a time to avoid this but then got hung up and went ahead on other side and though I thought I kept them separate I must have mixed them up when painting. Thanks again. Phil
