It does not have the lower mounting plate to the fire wall. My 6t8 has a spline for the rag joint, also cannot tell about the steer wheel mounting. I would say no. T

You really need to measure from the steering wheel to the firewall to make sure that the column you buy will be long enough to stick into the engine bay so that the rest of the hardware can be attached.

The new column should be several inches LONGER than your measurement.

Like Terryroadster said....be careful of what you buy, or you may spend even more money getting adapters so that you can attach the new column to the steering box.

Default Who made it???

boynton,

Number One thing to do is find a manufacturer's name on it. If it is not ididit or Flaming River, walk away. There have been a number of Chinese tilt columns made (and sold in the USA by "American" companies) with VASTLY inferior tilt "knuckles" (compared to what GM put in THEIR tilt columns). These have been specifically banned in New Zealand because of their high potential to fail when placed under load.

New Zealand only allows for sale the ididit and Flaming River tilt columns, as they use GM tilt mechanisms or products at least as good as GM parts.

At the price being asked, can you really believe that it's made in the USA?

Caveat Emptor.

Regards from Down Under.

I put an Ididit in the 68 and am very pleased with it. One drawback is being non-collapsible you cant do the Borgeson conversion, as it reqires the column to be collapsed 2".

And as Jim Shea pointed out you also don't have the safety factor of the collapsible column.
