Default 350 engine mounts

I am looking to purchase a long block, but have been told that the Corvette 350 CI blocks have different dimensions than any other 350 engine block with regards to where the engine mounds are located... fact or fiction??

I've heard a lot of BS in my time, but this is a new one to me. Would you do me a favor? Find whoever told you that nonsense, and tell them I said "Please stop telling people about stuff you don't know anything about. Thank you."

Welcome to the forum, and feel free to post any more questions you may have concerning C3 'vettes, you'll get the straight dope here...sooner or later.

I just bought 2 rubber motor mounts from summit for my rebuild and they fit perfectly-350 motor mounts for a 78 C3.

The engine in the Corvette is one of the few (can't think of any other off hand) RWD Chevrolet's that sits "behind" the front axle centerline. Most every other RWD Chevrolet has the engine mounted over the front axle. This may well be the genesis of the comment you were told. The reality is that while the motor mounts are attached in a different location on the Corvette frame than most other Chevrolet's, as others have said, it has nothing to do with the mount location on the engine block.

Now an LS engine.... well, that's a different story...

Good luck and Happy Motoring... GUSTO

This is only true of the metal bodied Corvettes.

More specifically, the aluminum bodied ones, right?
