Default undercoating

I have a 74 Corvette have been cleaning the wheel wells out to paint around them ,I noticed that the frame looks as though it might have been undercoated, either by GM, or Zeib art during that time. Does anyone know if this was possibly done ,there's no rust , nice clean black.

I've been wondering the same thing about undercoating. My '72 bought from original owner last year is undercoated also.

Seems dealer applied undercoating(Rusty Jones) and Ziebart were popular purchases back then, even on Corvettes
Had my 69 GTO and my cousin had his 68 RT Charger Ziebarted. I'm sure some future owner down the line was crabbing about scraping it all off!
Just passed on a low mile 79 Vette, partly because of the undercoating

Stock frames were not undercoated. Underbodies received factory applied undercoating/sound deadener.

They might be crabbing about it put it sure beats having to replace rusted out floor and seat pans.

After just 3 years my 69 GTO had a tennis ball size rust hole in the front fender under the chrome rocker molding. Pulled the fender off and Ziebart didn't get a drop of stuff back there.
Just out of curiosity I pulled a door panel off, same thing, even tho they drilled the access holes and installed the yellow plugs.
But they sure loaded it up where it was easy to get to.

I guess it all comes down to who did it.
