Please forgive me for being a bit off topic.
My DD is a 2010 Grand Marquis (Yes, I know, a Ford, the horror!) with a single exhaust, flex fuel capable. I want to swap in a dual exhaust system, cat back only, with an H pipe, in an attempt to improve the power a bit. I am not looking for more loud, just more efficient.
Will the engine management controls compensate well enough for the reduced back pressure, and will I get a little more torque out of the motor, or will I end up with a car that runs poorly?
Thanks in advance, guys.
Switch out to a high-flow cat or dual cats (like a cop car perhaps, if it is different) and keep the pipe diameter at around 2.5 inches and you will see some improvement on the highway. Around town, maybe.
