Do you ever use old oil containers for storing.....
The plastic quart oil containers. Ever use them for, say.... old antifreeze? There is always a little bit of oil left in the containers. If you leave them around in your garage for a while, the little bit of oil left in there will float to the top. If you open the bottle you might even think you found a fresh quart of oil ! I guess you should always label any re-used container.... maybe put some duct tape on it. I just barely figured this out before dumping a quart of old antifreeze into my oil filter! :U

Never! At work today I found an employee pouring automatic transmission fluid into a GM 15W-40 diesel engine container. I recycle those plastic containers very quickly! Mistakes can be made very easily.

Yea, I keep'm around to use to properly dispose of old oil and similar automotive fluids
But I keep the new containers and the old containers in separate parts of the garage just for the reason(s) you mentioned. Don't wanna get them mixed up. :nono:

i have a gallon and a half jug of Fast orange hand cleaner, and the pump on it broke. I just put the differntial in the 88 so i had a nifty little bottle of gear oil. Cleaned it out and filled it w/ fast orange. Best bottle in the world for it :D
with old oil i just put it back in the Quart jugs of the new oil....but never store them for any period of time
