I could sure use a favor. The manual says the mixture control solenoid on the top right front of the 81 q-jet should have some resistance. Mine has zero. Before I buy an $85 part, could somebody just connect an ohmeter across the two contacts and get back to me. I have to get my code 54 gone before my mechanic will take it in...(what is wrong with that pic)
Thanks Stevo

Thanks for the help. Finally got it worked out with a guy who just barely spoke Inglich at Tomco, Ecklers carb rebuild source in L.A. He is going to send a new carb mixture control solenoid.
Next question is ..1. Does it MATTER whether the two wires are switched going to the solenoid? and
2. If it matters, WHICH wire goes to the forward connection? Mine was rewired.
My shop manual calls the wires "light blue" (mine has turned to dark green) and "pink/black" (mine just looks dark brown now). Thanks again.
