Th350: tyres blocked in "N"
a friend of mine had some strange noise in the car, to detect if it is related to the engine or the drivetrain he put his shifter from 2 to 3 and into "N" while dirving ~60mph.
The result was that the tyres blocked and he crashed the car.

(He thinks the tyres blocked already while shifting from 2 to 3)
So: is it normal that the tranny blocks in neutral? I cant imagine this.
The only thing i can imagine is that he pushed it into "R" maybe.
What du you think?

The crazy thing is, that he drove the car only in "2" since the 6 months he is owning it, because the seller told him to do so. (He knows not much about car tech)
When I was with him to check the car before buying it, I drove it in "3" without any issues.
So do you think too that there must be something wrong with the tranny?

Sounds like the seller didn't know anything, the buyer doesn't know anything to drive around in 2nd for 6 months. Or the seller knew that the tranny was bad.I also vote that the owner put it in reverse or even park. Because putting a tranny in "N" at 60 is no big deal.
My now ex-wife should not own a car. My hot rod doesn't have a neutral safety switch. You pump it twice and floor the gas and then turn the key for the starter. She followed the starting order on everything, But she did not have foot on the clutch and the car was in reverse. The car fired right up and drove backwards right through the garage door.
