How do you take your exhaust manifold bolts off that are closest to the passenger compartment -- I cant get a wrench in there to do it, and its too close to the manifold tube to get a socket on it. Any thoughts

Long off-set box end wrenches will help but it is easier to get to those from under the car. I have a set of Craftman off-set box wrenches that come in handy in a lot of tight places. I have even modifed some of them.

A crowsfoot, it looks like the end of an openended wrench with a spot to put a socket wrench on.

A very handy tool :yesnod:

They are one of those things you don't use too often but when you need them NOTHING else works.

Guru, I presume your' talking of headers, well I find it lots easier to just ding the hell out of the offending tubes, nearly all of them usually, well before installation....plenty of clearance for a 1/4 drive ratchet and sockets and extension.....and I coat the bolts with my favorite RTV to help keep them in place,...seems to work pretty well....between the various extensions, sockets depths and ratchet flex head, I can get every header bolt on my car...from up top....course Ihave a small block, so life's a bit easier...
