Default Convertible soft top frame?

Is it possible to or has anyone found a convertible frame off another vehicle that would work on a C3? I have a hardtop but it would be nice to have both.

Just curious why you would want a soft top frame off another when you can find either new or used corvette soft top frames?

My frame was in rough shape, so I had it rebuilt locally and it's as good as new.

Corvette folding tops are Corvette only. Any 68-75 folding top will fit your car; there could be minor differences depending on model year, but the basic design stayed the same.

Hopefully you can find a used one. There was a guy selling his 82? convertible conversion as a parts car awhile back. Maybe he is selling the frame??

Might want to send member 1960fi a message and see if he has one, that guy seems to have more vette parts than Bowling Green.

My car came with the soft top. I drove it for 5 years with only the soft top, albeit in California weather. I bought a new hardtop in '74 when I heard the convertible would be discontinued. I hardly use the hardtop, it's safely stored in a closet with a fitted cover on it. I think you'll enjoy your Corvette much more with a folding top.
Having said that, in my opinion, anybody who thinks these cars are inexpensive is either deluded or just doesn't understand the economy of owning these cars.
We see it all the time here on the forum. Folks come here thinking they can get a cheap C3 and motor on down the road. As we know those cars usually require lots of work and $$$$$$$. If a person really wants a very nice C3 Corvette, it's usually better to buy the best.
If I wanted/needed a convertible top frame, I'd jump on that EBay top frame ASAP.

Pete

How much would a total package (including small parts and weatherstrip) be Willcox? And where would I go about finding the header?
