The project plan for the 80 called for a different hood to clear the stock air cleaner. This hasn't happened yet, so back to the original hood for now. So, does anybody run a small block with the Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold/Q-Jet carb? How much drop does this setup require for the air cleaner and what filter element (3"?).
Thanks, it makes it so much easier when you can buy the right one the first time.
I thought a little extra drop couldn't hurt and would leave me some room...Tightened the cleaner down and went for a drive. I was a little surprised when the Q-jet pump lever caught on the cleaner and held it in on my test drive! It didn't happen the first time I hit the gas but when it did happen, I realized why a good fit was important!

Myko, have you shared your wheel/tire combo on your Red '80 in that sticky thread? Your car looks nearly identical to mine save for the wheels & tires. Is that a doeskin interior? Any info you can share about mods or fitment would be great as those of us running 15" wheels will benefit from the info shared once we get off the fence
