flowmasters and my corvette

i want to put flowmaster 40's on my 72 corvette, but i dont think they will fit....i understand that they dont have the hook on them but if thats all that i need to do to get them to fit than i can have that welded on

does anyone have these mufflers on thier ride?
will they physically fit under there?

On my 73 my 40's are up nice and tight so you can even see them except from the rear. When I switch back to the stock exhaust extensions you won't see them at all. If you like a nice rumble, you are going to love the 40's.

I have them with all new exhaust. They fit them up there with the hangers off the stock mufflers. I can't even see them from the rear unless you get on all four legs. :eek: Anyways I like them alot. :D

40's fit well with 2 1/2 " pipe. 50's are a very tight fit but can be done with 2 1/4 pipe.

I have 40s on mine too. They fit great and I even had tips welded on sdo that they look like stock tips except larger diameter. The sound is awesome. I know my 78 is a little different in the back than your 72 but others have done it with good results.
