Has anyone had issues with locating both in the engine compartment. Instructions for box and coil say avoid heat. I see tons of them mounted under the hood so have any of our members had failures due to heat? This is going in a 68 vert so any pictures of members installations would be a great help. I need access to this one so set up numbers can be changed. I see no way to avoid heat if parts are located anywhere in the engine bay. Is it possible that this is another one of those cover your warranty buttocks by putting it in print, AVOID HEAT??? Open to suggestions !!
Thanks,
Norm
Mine is mounted to the backside of the left wheelwell. You can see it through the left gill vent. I also don't have the charcoal canister, don't know if that would get in the way.
This is how I mounted my coil but you can only mount it this way if it's the MARINE MSD coil because it has some sort of epoxy filler and you can mount it in any direction.
My 6AL is mounted on the pass fenderwell above the vent. Remember to run a dedicated hvy gauge wire directly to the battery to power the 6AL per MSD. Coil is mounted in the factory coil holder on top of the manifold next to the dist. Both the 6AL and Blaster coil have been trouble free for some 15 years now.

Thanks to all that came back on this. Went to a cruz in Saturday where we had in excess of 65 pro street cars. I was shocked to see so many mounted in all possible locations under the hood. Heat must not be an issue! I think the fenderwell will work just fine for my application.
Thanks again,
