no spark please help
i just was givin a 74 corvette with a 350. it has a aftermarket hei and i have no spark. i have 12 volts to the bat terminal on the cap. i replaced everthing in and on the distributor i even pulled the hei out of my father inlaws 76 vette that is known to be working and nothing. timing chian is still good as the rotor spins when you crank the engine. new cap and rotor as well. i have a dual piont mallory should i just switch back to points any input is much appreciated.

Where did you connect to get the 12volots? When you turn the ignition switch to "start" it cuts off power to almost everything that isn't necessary so it can use the power to start the car. Connect your volt meter to the wire to the distributor and see if it's hot while cranking.
