The intake alone won't do much of anything.. you need to be able to get the air out of the engine as quickly as you can pull it in.. this means better flowing heads and exhaust over stock. The factory setups biggest restriction is exhaust followed by heads and the cam and intake. The factory qjet carb is actually capable of 750 FM which is plenty for most setups.

i swapped heads and cam also, so ill defer to guys who have been doing engine upgrades awhile...

(although take thier advice with a grain of salt since thier results where no doubt influenced by their "sponsers" support.

I went with a polished "Assault" intake which is closest to an rpm clone at 1/2rd the price. since I already had the Chinese edelbrock carb on it I wasnt to concerned with the "Made in the USA" emblem at that point.

I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in soon.
