Default Removing OBX Side Pipe Resonators

I am about to purchase OBX side pipes with resonators (because I can't find any without.) I have done a lot of searching and haven't really seen anything other than, they are a bitch to remove because they have 5 tack welds on them. 2 on one side and 3 on the other.

Anyone have any suggestions or instructions on how to get these things out. I am guessing maybe using a dremel, but not sure how much room I will have to work with since the resonators will probably be recessed into the pipe. Thanks

You must not have looked very hard because I just Googled them and found a lot of options including the racing depot where I bought mine.
EBay was out of sbc ones when I looked last week.

Sorry to be blunt, but are you here to troll, or did you actually have some insight for me? Maybe a link to these options you found would be helpful.

Thanks, this is what I was contemplating, just wondering if there were other options.

Check out the "Maximizer" brand version of the OBX, they are the same headers and you can order them without the inserts as well.

What inserts are you going to end up with??

Good Luck!

I'm having a hard time locating a dealer for either the Maximizer brand or the OBX. I found Danny on this site, but he only has OBX with resonators. Any recommendations on who to contact for Maximizer brand w/o resonators?

I am going with STS or Classic Chambered Exhaust Vettepack

Not trolling at all. You stated you can't find any without the resonators and implied everyone was out of them, but they are are for sale from many vendors online. I guess I just take for granted that people who belong to forums also know how to use a search engine like google.

Here is a link to a simple Google search (Google.com) I typed in "OBX corvette side pipes" and then I selected "shopping" Its that easy.
The first company on the list is the racing part depot. That's where I bought mine almost two years ago.

I did you little search and went to that same company you named. If you go to that company and look it will say out of stock. Do you have any other places to look?

Im not trying to get into a pissing match with you, but I worked for Google for 3 years, so I think I am rather well versed when it comes to utilizing their search engine.

Back to your search query though. If you put in "OBX corvette side pipes" and select shopping, you will see that those links lead you to "out of stock" items. BB is in stock, but SB is out of stock. If you have any other links or searches that yield a meaningful discussion, please do share and prove me wrong. I'm all about eating humble pie.

In retrospect, I should have listed I have a small block and not a big block.

These guys seem to have some SBC ones but I didn't go through the order process so I don't know for sure.
