Default Door handle

The drivers door handle quit working last night on my 79. Tonight I finished disassembly, I had heard some parts drop last night. I looked the assembly over and could not figure out what was missing. I took the lower panel off and went fishing. I came up with a torsion spring and a part with a shoulder for the spring, looks like part of the handle. Is this repairable and how? Or do I need to replace the handle? The handle is like new hate to have to replace it.

Hotrodnick, I currently have the door apart on my 79, are there any pictures that I can take for you or have you identified the pieces in question? Power door locks and power windows.

I have a door handle and door lock actuator on order from Willcox and will likely reassemble and adjust next weekend.

Talked to a supplier and yes new handle time. I have ham hands, but my wife has tiny hands, I told her tonight she's going to be a corvette mechanic. At 36,000 miles and steel doesn't breakdown it must be a manufacturing defect. Do you think I can get warranty.

My wife has small hands and she had trouble putting them on. Got it back together last night, DW had plenty of scowls, and I said lots of bad words. I hope the engineer who designed them spends eternity replacing C3 handles.

Actually not too hard to do. Drop the plastic cover down, take the latch screws loose and drop the latch down. Then you have better access.
