Ok, I want to go to the track sometime soon and have a few questions for you guys.
I have a '79 with the TH-350 automatic three speed transmission and was wondering 1) How do I do a burn out and 2) what RPM do I shift at?
I ask about the burn out question because we took the car out one night in a industrial park, held the brake to the floor, and slowly applied the gas but all it did was screetch a whole lot and left a couple black marks on the pavement.
here's an easy one.. 1)at the track there is whats called a 'water box' and all it is is simply a guy with a hose spraying the pavement about 50 ft from the starting line. drive through it, hold the brake and floor it :jester then let off after a few seconds.. (maybe 5 seconds max on streets).
2) I'd say shift at 5.. works on mine.. I like to shift right before the little red bar on the tach  by the time i shift into the next gear the rpms are at 5500 or so
