Default Wiring help needed for dash. Pleeeeeeassseeeee

Started putting the dash wiring back in tonight and it has gone fairly well except for three mystery wires.
The first one is two fat purple wires one with a white stripe going into a female connector on the left hand side of the dash. I am thinking that this connects to the clutch sensor however my car was an origional automatic.

Second is two fat red wires one with a white stripe going into a female connector. It is in the same area as the two bundles that coonect to the top of the steering column.

And third is an orage and a white wire going into a plastic round female connector that I think hooks to the brake switch.

I am lousy at reading wiring diagrams and can't find these anywhere. Please help.

  :smash:

On my 73 the orange and white wires connect to the brake switch. So I think you got that right

Can't help with the others... but I'll check some of my books and see if I have a 71 wiring diagram (yours is a 71, isn't it ???, that's whats in your signature).

Stay tuned.

YEP!

Believe that's your wiper overide switch wires.

YEP!

Wade, the purple wires are for the clutch interlock switch (at least they are on my '69). Looking at the Haynes wiring diagram for a '71 I see:

12 Purple to clutch safety switch

14 orange & 14 white to the stop lamp switch

The red wires are either to the windhshield wiper override switch, or are the +12 v unfused wires to the ignition switch.

Shannon

PS - I'll be in Charlotte this weekend. IM me if you need some help.
