What's up guys. I just got my 74 bb car back on the road and it needs an alignment BAD. She gets pretty dangerous over 70 and I would like to hit the track soon so this alignment is a high priority on my list. Can anyone recommend a place in NJ (preferably central) that has experience doing C3's? I would love to get it done today if possible but if not, no big deal.
Don't know how far south you are willing to go but I have had several C3 cars aligned at Ceriale's Automotive Services
861 Woodlane Rd, Mt Holly, NJ
(609) 267-4600 Mt Holly NJ. They are off exit 5 off the turnpike. They used to give a forum discount. Have not been there in a year or so but mine will need to go there shortly.

I used the Tire Barn on Rt 130 in North Brunswick for my 72 and 74, Did a a good job. The mechanic Al has been there a long time and knows the older cars and corvettes.

Gordon, I have no problem traveling for an experienced shop. I have found a few local guys who had work done nearby so I'm going to check there first but if not I'll head your way. I see you've done quite a bit with these cars so I trust your advice.

Just called, they told me $130 and up for an alignment. That sounds ridiculous to me but I've never gotten an alignment on this car before. Is that normal?

The last time I had cerialas do one it was right at 100. I had another guy who also does a good job further south and he was at 180 and did nothing for the rear toe. It was ok if he had to do that it was another 60 so 130 is not bad at all for a good 4 wheel alignment

It depends on how much time they have to spend on the rear. Rusty bolts and shim placement is not easy. The front is just regular Chev and is easy. Make sure you have your own shims for the rear. They will not have a supply of them. I would bet it will cost you more than $130 no matter where you go.

Rear seems to be spot on actually, the front is what needs it desperately. Thrust Performance in Sayreville quoted me $80 and they did my friend's 75. His car gets wayyyyy up there in MPH and stays straight as an arrow. I'm going to stop in tomorrow and talk to their Corvette guy.
I am looking into purchasing the longer bolts for the leaf springs in order to lower the rear. Should I do that first or will it not affect alignment? Thanks for all the help guys

Yes set your ride height first. I always get the car set up the way I want it before alignment. 80 bucks is a great deal

They called me back and said no way they'll do it for $80. Kinda messed up to do that but I did think that was pretty low so no hard feelings. I went ahead and order the 8" bolts for the rear so I can get that out of the way first. Thanks for the advice guys
