Default Computer geeks, how do i block the video stream from CF?

I cant down load CF pages with all the data streaming that keeps coming and coming. I continuously get the stop script pop up. My little netbook computer doesnt have enough RAM and pretty much locks up. CF is the only web page that has that problem. Anyway to block some of the data stream form CF? I cant wait 10 min for a single page to load.

Try ghostery and Adblock plus. I use them to block trackers and video streams that are on other sites....hadnt realised there were any on CF so they must be working.

Use Chrome along with Adblock and Disconnect.

Right now looking at this page Adblock is blocking 25 adds and Disconnect is blocking 1 Facebook link, one twitter link and 32 google links.

The pages here are superfast now.

no idea what you are talking about

may want to visit our HELP forum which is where you can get help with site issues as opposed to the C3 section

if you dont use an anti spam/popup addon,This forum has a lot of popups.and a ton of spyware, Right now scriptblocker is blocking about 12 such products from running from this page.
On my phone and tablet to the point that I'm constantly having to refresh or go back to get them to close since the "x" to close them is not always visable and you can scroll once they are covering the page.
I've yet to see any video advertizements...

Ok thx guys. Now i know im not alone. I first noticed this when trying to open or close threads while a small video box ad was playing. It seems to have gotten worse and i now frequently get a stop script questionnaire popup when my netbook locks up. But mostly just on this CF so i had to ask here if others were having same issues - not trying vent but just looking for a solution.

So is Adblock plus or ghostery or Chrome or Disconnect free? My Avast free antivirusware does a good job and has a script shield.

Thx for the advice, keep it coming,

Buy a Apple! iPad, iPhone or laptop and none of that stuff shows up. Plus I own stock, so help a fellow Vette owner out so I can do a frame off.

Ok Adblock did the job to CF ads. I can move fast as heck between pages now. Works on Yahoo to. Stupid yahoo news got so bad with every headline i opened was a bombardment of video ads. Adblock cleaned up my other car forums also but kinda funny one forum still has the vendor pix but no problems with scripts or video there. I still want to try those other blocker apps - one at a time.

Thx for the fast replies, this and even better forum now,

There are many features built into Internet Explorer that take care of this for you without having to add more software. With IE's tracking protection and blocked sites, there isn't much left on this page other than the built in ads.

I think that's what the OP was concerned with but used different terminology.

I've never had a 'video' or any type, spam or spyware on this site irrespective of which browser I use.

I use Flashblock. It automatically stops all video feeds, but leaves a play button over them if you do want to watch a youtube video or something.

...oh...and I am not a computer geek. I am a computer nerd.

I use "Noscript" which is an addon for firefox. it shows all the names of spy and adware being blocked in a yellow bar across the bottom right now its blocking 10 other websites besides the corvetteforum that are trying to collect info from my pc through this web page... stuff like doubleclick.com and scoreandsearch.com.
I would not have a clue these things were running and slowing my pc down otherwise except for maybe the targeted emails that have to do with what I've been researching online.

That's the best option yet for the OP! None of the extra crap.

The only issue, and this is very minor, is that you don't get the avatars and signatures of the members among a few other things. But it will run with a lot less overhead and load much faster. I just replaced my favorite link with that link.

Sorry advertisers, it's a cat and mouse game.
