Default Park Light/Grille Install Issues

Finally have all of the lights/blinkers/flashers working great and now need to mount the front park/turnsignal/grilles so I can lock bulbs into them. There are four holes in the grille to mount to the body. Unfortunately found that there are only TWO mounting holes in either of the grille openings. In both cases they are the upper/lower mounting holes on the inside - closest to the center grille. Can anyone tell me what's missing? Looking at the diagram from the manual, it appears there should be some sort of extension brackets, but can't seem to find them nor where they should mount. I am including some pix below for clarification. Again, thanks in advance for your help.

This is driver's side opening. Note that only mounting holes are available on the side closest to the center of the car.

This is me holding the driver's side grille/light fixture in position

Here's the only info in the manual I could find

I pulled the grilles of my 78 this week to remove the actuators and you're correct, there is an extension bracket as you describe it. Your AIM sheet shows a portion of it. I can shoot a photo and send it later if that will help.

Hello Wayne,
This is the best picture I could find but I think you are missing the two outer brackets. THey are seperate parts (maybe the outer lower one is part of the bumper reinforcement?). The upper outer is more towards the center, the bottom outer is pretty much positioned in the corner
Nick

You'll need to go to junkyards to find them, pm send as it's not a supporting vendor

Yeah...your AIM isn't showing the brackets. This copy is from a 75 AIM but even my 78 shows the same image...grille and brackets. You want the grille brackets...outside. They should be plentiful at swap meets...Carlisle is coming up.
