My 68 wiper motor and wiring are shot- too many odd wires present to plug in a new motor. I have a working motor from a 73 and need help to direct wire it to an under dash switch- completely by passing the bubba'd set up. Can anyone help me with a how to???? the 3 wires from the plug are there but no plug!! Thanks Paul Also I have cowl hood and no wiper doors to deal with-just hoping to have a working wiper-never have driven any of my cars in the rain-on purpose!

Um correct me if I'm wrong but how is direct wiring a 73 motor in a 68 with an underdash switch not considered a "Bubba" job in itself?
Kind of reminds me of the doorbell button the PO installed in my car for a horn button because he assembled the factory horn button backwards...
factory wires are color coded, it cant be that difficult to look up what wires go where.. I just googled it and theres a ton of diagrams including a nice color one from Wilcox...

Yeah, Bubba can be a PITA, huh? When I bought my 'vette, it had a piece of speaker wire holding up the passenger's side tailpipe. Talk about Bubba! I very quickly replaced it with a piece of wire coat-hanger for a more professional installation.
Dont get me wrong.... you gotta do what you can and sometimes it requires jury-rigging things to work. But to complain about a "Bubba" job and then go on to ask how to create another yet more extreme bubba mess for the next owner to scratch his head over just struck me as a bit funny.
the OP didnt go into any details but I cant see what the po could really have done that would make it so hard to just fix it right.
Thanks for the comments,I'll check out Willcox's schematics. I was only interested in getting power to a wiper motor that has no wiring to it or any to the switch. No vacuum needed as there are no wiper doors due to cowl hood. The Bubba comment was for having no vacuum,no wires either to switch or non working motor- wanted to do a 'lesser 'Bubba job but nonetheless a minor Bubba. I'd like to use the original dash switch but unsure how to wire it. Paul
the right connector would be a great help. apparently its been worked on previously as the connector to plug into the motor is gone- (3 separate wires are there but dont know what order they should be in. The other side- into the dash switch is also missing the connector and wires are probably in the wrong order. I'll get a pic later on and get it to you Thanks
post me a pic... lets see if we can figure it out.
Here is the motor to harness connector, the other side should be on the dash main harness. If you go to my help page or schematic on the 68 motor you can see what wires go where.
msg to Willcox- I do have the correct 68 motor. The 3 wire connector to the motor does not have the connector(will buy 1 from you) but the 3 wires are connected via male connectors. However all 3 wires are yellow with the number 2 being much heavier gauge than the others. There is a heavy black wire connected to the top right cowl fastener. On the inside from the harness there are 3 lt blue wires with no connector but hooked the same way as the wiper motor. I have pics on my phone but need an email address to send them. is it support@willcox. com? a friend has identified the inside pattern to connect but we have no clue with the yellow ones. According to PO the wipers worked when the cowl hood was put on and wiper doors removed.. Any directions will help greatly Thanks Paul
Yes.. that is the correct email address.. Support@willcoxcorvette.com.. but you should post them here.. so peeps down the road can see the issue if they have the same one.
follow up to what Willcox told me to check. I removed the wiper motor from the car and identified the wiring without the plug which are all yellow at the ends- they are yellow, blue and what looks like brown. It has 2 plugs coming from harness- the one pictured by Willcox 3 wires 1 red and 2 black along with a round plug with 2 connectors but looped back to the 3 way plug I'l post pic of it. Inside the switch has 3 wires 1 dark blue,1 lt blue(2 wires into 1) and 1 black The switch has the clips in order from left to right lt blue, dark blue and black The motor has a couple plastic pieces broken on it and may need rebuild. I have another motor- identical looking which I know works and hopefully wired the same so that I can use it.
What color wires are in the T connector.. this is for the limit switch at the firewall if the wires are brown and black.
The other connector on the right should be the main connector. The wires should be red white and brown on the bottom (which looks melted)
I think you've found the yellow and blue wire.. but you need the green one too.. these are the 123 connector wires n a connector like the one show in the picture below..
The only thing I'm sure of is that the wires to the switch in the dash are correct!!! I hope I will just be able to get power to the motor so wipers work. No need for vacuum or washer. The harness has all wires with black tape covering the that is disintegrating. Again I'm only sure that the plug in to the motor is there. Not very good at schematics. Thanks for the help Willcox, don't know where to go from here

Match and find the wires on the car, that are the same as the schematic I've posted. You find the wires, then ping (test continuity) the same wires to make sure they go where you think they go... It's that easy..
separated all the wires and may have an idea of what goes where. I bench tested both motors and the 68 motor is dead. The newer one( not sure what year it is but has same numbers on housing) only has power to high speed so may need a new motor. Wondering after all this and poor condition of wires if I can wire it direct using the original switch and the 3 prong connections to operate it

There is no reason to re-wire the entire circuit.. I'm sure what you have can be fixed..
Are you sure the motor is dead.. did you bench test it with my vid?
