Default smaller radiator

I'm still trying to figure out my cold air intake, which I would preferably do via de nose of the C3. However the radiator sits in the way big time. Now I was thinking whether it would be feasable to install a less wide radiator, so that I would have room for some tubing to go past one side of the radiator. This might necessitate using an aluminum and possibly thicker radiator.

Has this ever been done ?

I would think the disadvantages would outweigh the possible 5-7hp gains here... cowl induction works well and would require a lot less work and $$

or you could cut the top of radiator support I've seen the ls1 guys do it before. Pics of your intake and what setup you wanna do would be cool. But the cowl is our best friend. I've also seen where some one removed wiper motor and put air filter cone there.

It just rains to much over here (and therefor legally you need to have wipers)
