what length Speedo cable on a '78?

what length Speedo cable on a '78?
One of the previous owners of my 78 replaced the original 2 part, cruise control speedo cable with a sigle length speedo cable which comletely by-passes the cruise control.
This has now bust and I need to order a new one but I've three options on the length:
63 inches
83 inches
100 inches
I dont particularly want/need the cruise control back so I'm happy to stick with the current set-up but which length should I buy?
(I know I could get under the car with a tape measure but I'm being lazy :sleep: )

Hi Phil, Just done that on mine and got it thru Ray at Corvette Kingdom. He didn't even ask the length and when it came it was spot on. Give him a try !Paul

An Update...
Further inspection has revealed that the cable has not snapped, but has in fact come away from the tranmission. The 'knurled' connector end of the speedo cable is still in the transmission but the cable has come out and is hanging loose.
Is this repairable or do I have to scrap it and start from scratch with a new cable/connector?
b.t.w. how do I get the 'knurled' connector off the transmission - is it simply a case of unscrewing it? :bb
