Water Pump Determination - Custom
Power steering, alternator, crank, water pump only (no A/C) (electric fan)
I believe the answer would be determined by the brackets used? If stock then the corvette pump would have to be used? Would a standard short work with aftermarket pulleys but stock brackets?
Can someone clear this up?

Basically what I'm asking is if one is to build a SBC from scratch for a C3, what water pump should be used?
My assumption is that if the stock brackets are used, then the C3 specific pump. If aftermarket brackets are used, does it matter to use a short or long water pump?
..and a secondary question mixed in all of that was - Can a standard, non C3 specific, short water pump be used with the stock brackets?
