Cant even change my own damn oil....went and bought everything I needed. Jacked her up, saw that it must have been awhile since the oil had been change by the condition of the filter.
Filter loosedned right up, but for the life of me, I can not get the drian plug loose.....sprayed it with WD-40 and have put all of my might into it. Damn thing just wont budge.
Going to go try one more time before I give up.....
Here's a suggestion. Try a small pipe wrench on it. I had the same problem on my Dodge and it cam right out. Had to buy a new drain plug, but it came out and I got the job done.
The problem I had with the vice grips was that my plug was in so tight, it rounded off my nut. The pipe wrench got it out, rounded nut and all. :yesnod: Hey, whatever works. If you can get it out with the vice grips, all the better. If you end up rounding it off, try the pipe wrench.
use a short peice of fence pipe on the wrench if you need
And don't think I didn't when this happened to me. I had had my oil changed at a quick lube place just before a long trip. When I arrived back, the car was rarely driven for about six months. The next time I tried to change my oil, the guy had put it back in so tight it wouldn't budge even with a good six point socket. That began the rounding process. So before it was completely rounded, I tried Vice grips. That completed the rounding process. How do you turn a completely round object...a pipe wrench. I don't know how far he is in the process, and I'm not advocating it as the first thing to try, but if all else fails, the pipe wrench is just an idea that works as a LAST resort.
