Seeing as how I can't drive my car until next spring/winter I decided to make a "to do" list for when I have money. :)
Please give me your comments/suggestions/order
- Replace 8-track with a CD Player, and add a sub and some more speakers
- New Paint
- Redo Interior
- New Exhaust System
- Minor mods
- Drop in a new engine
Could anyone give me advice on redoing an interior. Right now my exterior is a dull metallic blue. I definately want to repaint. I'm not sure what color, but was thinking either black, red, or yellow. I couldn't have a black/red/yellow exterior and have a dark blue interior. It just wouldn't be right. :) Has anyone redone an entire interior like this? If so, can you buy a package and what price am I looking at?
Go with multiple colors or something real glitzy. There isn't any reason to go with "A Color". Stripes, flames or a simple all one color with- flake, metalics maybe Kandies. Ghosting, the list is endless.
I think blue will go with yellow so you could have a yellow Vette but I always thought yellow was overpowering. Blue & yellow would seem to work though. So would black & yellow.
Check suspension for worn parts. Bushings and all that.
They have entire packages minus the dash(seat covers, rug, door panels & visors). It's too expensive to do just for the sake of a color change. Check a paint/interior shop they may be able to change the color for you without buying unneeded items. The price is from memory and for my car but about the grand mark. Probably higher, I don't think I was including door skins.
The sound system is going to cost more than you think-maybe. I crammed in 3 amps and 10 speakers, 4 are tweeters so don't really count but 2 are 12" woofs so it evens out, if you know what I mean. This is by far overkill and you don't really need more watts than Horsepower.
The paint is high unless you do it your self. Equipment can cost about 1 grand and the paint roughly the same.
Stainless exhaust systems are available, maybe someone who has one could comment on them. They should last indefinately.
Save where you can so you can spend it on the others things.

Oh- the paint should be the last. It's vulnerable to several of the other jobs and may be the most costly- depending on the engine.
that way over the years when you repaint the car you can go with different colors if you get sick of the one you have and the black will always look
Leave it ALONE!! just trying to save you my pain.:D ive been unable to drive mine for 16 months because we kept finding problem after problem... i think its worth it in the long run, but its a big ol PIA. if you were to repaint it do something no one else has done or at least something you dont normally see. thats why i did the prowler orange. i was going to do this bright azz orange with orange/yellow pearl that would have been a real attention getter. i am going to a future car in that color. it was c:cool::cool:L
I wasn't concerned about origionality so I got a local shop to do my seats door panels and dash it saved me about 1000$ or so and I got a better looking and more comfortable interior. IMO
good luck
