Engine Codes
I was looking at the 79 'vette I acquired not too long ago and was looking to see if I had matching numbers. My VIN number is1Z8749S416043 which indicates that the car should have an L82 engine. The engine number is V0517CHU and the vin dirivitive looks like it is 621347. I obviously don't have matching numbers but, according to the engine suffix, the engine in it is a 1975 L48 for a 4-speed manual transmission. My car is an automatic. How does this affect the value of the car? Any information or insight would be appreciated. :confused:
