Battery still not charging, new 120 amp alt. new Optima red top batter, complete new all copper main ground and still not charging, 13 v. on meter and on digital meter.
Someone said there is a fusible link located in the charge wire under the area below the drivers seat. Going to check this. Do I remember correctly that the charge wire goes to the horn relay then to the battery? Can I go directly from the alt. to the junction block. Sorry for being a pest but I'm going nuts trying to get this thing to charge. Oh yeh, it is an "80".
I didn't see your other thread. Why do you think the battery's not charging? Is there a slow crank overnight? Dead battery after a few days? It might be a low drain, rather than a no-charge situation. Check the voltage on the battery terminal (engine running). If that's good, you're getting a charge. If not, check at the alternator output. Use a good meter, don't trust the dashboard meter for this. If you have good voltage at the alternator but not the battery, work backward towards the battery until you find the low/no voltage area.
