All indications from everyone said I had a bad ground somewhere. So on that note, I asked my mechanic remove the battery ground strap, clean the terminals and re-attach it and do the same for the alternator and the starter. I will pick up the Beast in the morning. The shop ran a test on the battery and said I needed to get a new one. I will do that tomorrow afternoon. Will keep you posted....

You should have him check the ground for the starter too. On my '75 it is to the block behind and above the starter. For that matter, ALL grounds should be cleaned. Many strange problems are solved by this simple PITA job.

Well, I picked up the "beast" this morning and naturally, shre started just perfectly. I came home and removed the battery for the exchange. Advance Auto honored the warranty and I got a 78 month Auto Gold Battery with 770 coca. Came home and installed the new battery. Between cleaning and reconnecting the 3 grounds (battery, starter and alternator) and getting a brand new top-of-the-line battery, my problem has been solved. Man, I hate electrical problems... will keep you apprised of the situation.... wish me luck!!!
